Print an invoice or receipt
The phone app has no print button and no printer setting. Every document you give a shop leaves the phone as a PDF. Who: rep · Where in the cycle: Sell.
What the phone can share
Section titled “What the phone can share”| Document | On the phone | Share as |
|---|---|---|
| Invoice (van sale) | Opens after the sale; provisional until it syncs | Share invoice — A5 PDF |
| Receipt | The provisional receipt after Record payment | Share receipt — A6 PDF |
| Credit note (a return) | Not on the phone | Ask the office |
| Booked order | No invoice until the office delivers it | — |
The PDFs carry your company’s name and logo and are in the app’s language: Arabic right to left, or English left to right.
Steps: get the shop a paper copy
Section titled “Steps: get the shop a paper copy”- Open the invoice (or record the payment) and tap Share invoice (or Share receipt).
- In Android’s share sheet, choose:
- WhatsApp and the shopkeeper’s chat — the usual way; or
- a printing app installed on your phone, if your company gave you a printer that works with one.
- If neither works, tell the office the shop wants paper. They print it from the console: Invoices, Receipts or Credit notes.
Example
Section titled “Example”At 09:35 the shopkeeper at Nile Market gets the provisional invoice as a PDF on WhatsApp. He asks for paper: the office prints INV-000001 (its number once the sale synced) from Invoices and Omar hands it over on his next visit.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”- The receipt you share is always provisional: its number (RC-) is issued when the payment syncs and is shown in the console, not on the phone.
- The credit note for a return (its RET- number) is issued when the return syncs and is shown only in the console; the office prints or sends it from Credit notes.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- Neither WhatsApp nor a printing app is in the share sheet — it isn’t installed on this phone. Install it, or ask the office to print the document.
- “Could not prepare the invoice. Try again.” — tap Share invoice again; if it keeps failing, restart the app.
- The shop wants a copy with a number — sync first (pull down on Today), then open the invoice again and share it. A receipt’s number (RC-) never shows on the phone; ask the office for the numbered receipt.
